We all go by American calendar which is nothing but pre planned calender . Here Memorial day , Labor day , Independence day, Christmas day is all planned ahead of time and mentioned accordingly. These dates usually fall in adjustment with the weekend and this aspect will not change here in USA. In the same manner , Just look at specialities of our Sanatana Dharma Panchanga(Calendar Equivalent) . Today in our Panchanga, it is mentioned as Chitra poornime. In Jyotishya Shastra , every pornime is celebrated as special day and it has significance. For each pornime we have special spiritual significance involved. On Pornami day , Chandra ( moon ) is visible in full glow and he is very shining . During the rise of the poornime shining moon , If we worship devi ( Symbol of shakthi and Prakruthi) and Purusha , the same divine forces will start dominating in us through our Satva guNa and it becomes second nature of us to understand the ultimate divinity within our heart ( Hrudaya kampala madye kevalam Brahma Maatram - Here Brahma is not chaturmukha brahma but we should consider this brahma as Parabrahma or Paramathma ). Today is Jeshta masa Pornime tithi hence if you refer panchanga for today , it is mentioned as Jyeshta nakshatra . In the same way Ashada maasa pornime day is called Poorvaashada or Uttarashada . Same for Badrapada maasa Pornima day ( Poorvapada or Uttarapaada ) Shravana maasa has shravana Nakshatra . Our previous generations Rushi munis ( greatest scientists of all times) have given thieir hard work and still transferring this knowledge to our generation. We should not discard it as old and ancient . It is applicable even today as this is relevant for today as well. Hence the same "Sanatana" whcih means eternal.
As per Jyotishya Shastra, if we calculate maasa(s) ( chaitra , Vaishaka …….Palguna ) , Nakshathra , Rashi ,It would come to 108 number and hence number 108 has special significance that we chant 108 Gayathri Japa during Sandhyavandane - During Saandhya kaala ( twilight time - 20 minutes before sunrise , noon , 20 minutes after sunset ). Akaaradi Kshakaarantam ( lalitha Sahasranama )- It will become from A to ksha as half maale akara with akshara( with each letter) . This is the reason if we take up some task on this day it will fulfill our task and motivates us to put efforts to take our sadhana of coming together for this satsangha as collective energy is unbeatable .
In this country they say stop complaining and start appreciating . When sunshine is there , do not crib that it's too much sun . Just by complaining about sun , it does not bring down its power instead we have to plant trees and nurture it . We can sit under a tree.and enjoy more oxygen. Take action for yourself as sun shining is very important for all jeeva rashis to survive and also for producing food for all 85 lakh species. Same way during winter, wear multiple layers to beat the winter instead of saying too cold . It is also there to protect all 85 lakh species to perform their cyclic routine. If we start appreciating everything around us , there is absolutely no issue to this beautiful life . Isn’t it ?

Meaning :
Kamala will blossom during the day and closes its petals during the night. Fly went inside during the night and decided to stay there for that night . When sunshine happened the next day, it has decided to fly out thinking about worldly matter that night. But elephant came destroyed the whole thing the same night . It's all gone as it was immersed in the worldly matter, If we postpone today’s work we will have to face the consequence in this world .
Intention behind chanting Lalitha Sahasranama and Vishnu Sahasranama today :
Aartha Vishannah shitilaascha beetah
Goreshu cha vyaadishu vartamaanah
sankeertya narayana shabda maatram
vimuktah dukhah sukhino bhavantu
Aartharu - People who are in distress ,
Vishannah - We just do not know what we should be doing kind of people
Shitilaascha - If we are totally unwell ,
Beetah - Person with fear
Goreshu cha vyaadishu vartamaanah - When we are suffering from Ghora disease for which there is no cure to come out of it fully
sankeertya narayana shabda maatram
vimuktah dukhah sukhino bhavantu - Just take the name of narayaNa as Vishnu sahasranama phala shruthi says .
Let vaccine come . Let all get back to original normal.
As far as Lalitha sahsranama and Vishnusahasranama is cocnerned, Please do not chant wrongly. Please use this opportunity to learn to chant properly using the recording that is shared by Prasad . Guru Somayaji said “In one year if you are able to pronounce every single word as is , it's the biggest gift you all can give me and I do not expect anything else other than this.”
It has wrong meaning when you generally do not chant proerly. For example , this is the real meaning mentioned here . 93 Dushta doora She who keeps far away from evil men
194 Durachara shamani She who destroys evil practices
195 Dosha varjitha She who does not have anything bad
If we mess it up by stopping or pausing at Durachara - Devi is considered as bad. Shamani means Devi is always sleeping .. This kind of wrong interpretation will creep in . Thats why Guru Upadesha is extremely important in our lineage and this should not be a self study.
When Bhakti is there , there is no need for all the correction but no one can tell how much Bhakti and shradde we all have deep inside of us. Hence chanting properly is extremely important.
Finally Story to end the session today:
One day Shiva- Parvati decided to come down and help common family who is extremely suffering with bodily issues as Parvati ( divine mother always argues with Shiva to offer more help to people on Earth )
They came to one family as old age couple purely with an intention to help this distress family to come out of their deep illness .
Word meaning(Extremely Important ) : Shiva means "Mangala / Parameshwara/ Paramathma/Purusha swaroopa ".
Parvati is "prakruthi swaroopiNi /Divine mother" . She is the divine mother who just gives everything as she is extremely compassionate for those who chants her name through Lalitha Sahasranama.
This family, there were 3 people. One sick leprosy deceased man who is married to ugly looking girl and they were suffering their body and mind all day 24 hrs and 365 days . In this condition , they had their son . Unfortunately, this young son has polio and he hardly able to walk so he crawls on the ground. in the house. Shiva-Parvati both decided to come down to help this particular family. Shiva during conversation with Parvati said they will have to suffer their Karma , you do not know Parvati . These people Issues I know he said. Parvati is a mother and no mother wants to leave their children unattended and she cannot leave them with sufferings, Right ? So she pleaded Shiva to help. Since she always convinces Shiva one way or the other, Shiva said let’s try to help this family and rang the bell. Sick person shouted at his wife with the top of his voice to begin with asking his ugly wife to open the door even though she was doing husband's Seva throughout the day.
She opened the door and diseased person was on death bed . When that person inquired about old couple , old couple ( who are Shiva Parvati in reality ) replied they are here as they are travelling/ Loka sanchara and wants to help this family as they had special powers. This is kaligaala and even if Shiva Parvati came as old couple , we do not have jnaana or Internal eye to recognize them so house owner really asked . Are you sure you have special powers to double confirm . Shiva in old aged man smilingly said yes , go ahead and ask what you want as they get 3 boons.
Ladies first right so lady in the family decided to ask first. She asked to make her very beautiful and Shiva in old aged man form replied “Tatasthu “ . She became extremely beautiful and gorgeous. Looking at the beauty and husband got stunned and started worrying. Her own husband felt very jealous thinking all wrong things that she might run away leaving him so he asked as a second boon to make her more ugly than her original look. Shiva is bholenaath (innocent ) you know , He said "tatastu" . She became even more ugly looking and that completed 2 boons for the family. Child in the house got third boon and asked Shiva to make his mother to be her originally looks as he was used to her first look. Shiva actually liked the innocence of the child and said "tathastu" and she came back to original ugliness. What does it tell you ? Body means Its our gathering from this earth and it will perish each day as cells within our body die each day and one day finally energy leaves the body which we call death. Isn’t it . Thats why it is called Mortal body and it is going back to earth where it originally come from . Beauty is just temporary . Jealously and wrong thinking in a man is an ignorance . When Ignorance vanishes obviously self is going to shine and we need to train to remove ignorance on daily basis which we call pooje . Pooje is there to remove that sheet of ignorance as we call it as Chitta Shuddi in Shastra.
After Shiva Parvati left the house , Shiva told Parvati , this is what I said. Even if I am willing to give they do not know how to keep themselves and conduct themselves as they need to work on themselves first to remove the sheet of ignorance which is hiding the real Jnaana . When they work and remove Ignorance ,real sujnana shines and Parvati got really really convinced . You just look around and how people are behaving inspite of having everything . Ignorance is dominating and thats one thing they need to work on themselves to remove it by seeking the knowledge through Guru . Word Guru Means removal of Ignorance. We should know at least what to ask when Guru / Elders are blessing us .
